Time flies when you’re having fun! We can’t believe it’s October already, but we’re excited for a new month of learning (and birthdays)!
It wouldn't be Friday without a special visit from a Secret Reader! And what a special visit it was! We had a Secret Reader duo read to us. Who doesn't love Dr. Seuss?!
In our letter study this week, we focused on the letters “e” and “b.” We learned both the short and the long sounds for the letter “e,” so be sure to ask for both when practicing at home! One of our phonics activities had us arranging and rearranging the letters in our names and the names of our friends. We learned that letter order has importance. We had a lot of fun switching up letters and seeing if our friends could figure out the correct letter placement! |
In Writing Workshop, we have discussed where writers get their ideas! Our writers have also began stretching out words to hear the different sounds and then writing them down on paper! We use alphabet charts with picture clues as a tool to help us decode the sounds that we hear in words.
We are deep into our unit on our community, and are working on a plan to help out others less fortunate. Great things are happening in 003!
