Thank you so much for donating to the Friends of Burley annual fund! We are so excited to have won a “Half Hour of Happy!” What an amazing community to be a part of. We look forward to yoga and a healthy smoothie!
This week, we talked about how authors write stories around problems that characters must try to solve. We have been practicing identifying problem and solution using our new favorite; Leo Lionni. We also have been listening for beginning sounds in words and identifying the letter that makes that sound.
For math, we spent the week in a magical place called “Pattern Land.” Everything in Pattern Land follows a pattern! A pattern is something that repeats over and over again. We learned that the pattern unit is the part that repeats.
We learned a lot in our Freshwater unit this week! We learned the difference between a habitat and an ecosystem. We talked a lot about the differences between living and non-living things. Be on the lookout for Freshwater homework!
We are in the beginning phase of creating our very own pond in our dramatic play center, but we need a lot of help. If you have any items pertaining to freshwater/ponds and would be willing to donate or lend them to our room, send them to school with your child. If you need the items returned at the end of our unit, please send a note!
If you haven’t already done so, please ensure that you send a spare set of heavier clothing to switch out for summer/light clothing in your child’s cubby. Kindergarten is a messy place and we want to be sure that we have a spare set of clothing just in case!
