In our letter study, we focused on the letters “m” and “h.” Our sight words this week were “by” and “you.” We have also been identifying and matching uppercase and lowercase letters, and identifying how many syllables we hear in words! Ask us to clap out “word parts,” and tell you how many syllables we hear!
We met the "-ug" family this week! We brainstormed to compile a list of words that end with "-ug."

We began a new unit on personal narratives in writing workshop this week! A personal narrative tells the true story of something that happened to you. We think about small moments and specific memories, and we write a book telling all about it!
We had a special visit from Ms. Rachel, our school social worker, this week! Ms. Rachel talked to us about treating others with kindness and respect. We discussed how the things we say can affect others, even if we don’t realize it! She then gave us each a positive note with a picture which we decorated and hung around the school. Thanks, Ms. Rachel!
In Math, we have been using dice and cards to help us recognize quantities from 1-6. Games are always fun, but it’s even more fun when we get to play with different partners!
We have been using puppets to act out a multitude of social situations to help us practice how to work any issues in a positive way. We have also discussed what it means to be courteous, and how it is important to be aware of others when we are moving, transitioning, and standing in line. We are working on communicating with one another in ways that are progressive, polite, and safe!
